# Client Portal Overview

The Client Portal gives each of your clients a self-service dashboard where they can view their own deals, projects, invoices, and support tickets — without needing access to your WordPress admin area.

## How Clients Access the Portal

Add the `[hive_crm_portal]` shortcode to any WordPress page (for example a page called "My Account" or "Client Dashboard"). When a logged-in client visits that page, HiveCRM shows their personal portal instead of the page's normal content.

Clients log in using a WordPress account with the `hcrm_client` role, scoped to their own client record.

## What Clients Can See

Depending on what you enable in [Configuring the Client Portal](configuring-the-client-portal.md), a client's portal can show:

- **Deals** — their deals and estimated value.
- **Projects** — their active and past projects.
- **Invoices** — their estimates and invoices, with secure view/pay links.
- **Support Tickets** — their ticket history and conversation threads.

## Support Ticket Permissions

Separately from what's visible, you can control whether clients can:

- **Submit a new support ticket** directly from the portal.
- **Reply to their own tickets**. Staff-only internal notes on a ticket are always hidden from the client, regardless of this setting.

## Security Model

Every portal request is scoped to the logged-in client's own records — a client can only ever see their own deals, projects, invoices, and tickets, never another client's data.

## When to Use the Client Portal

Enable the Client Portal when you want to reduce back-and-forth emails for status updates, invoice copies, or support requests, and give clients a self-service way to check on their own account.
