# Configuring the Client Portal

This article walks through enabling and configuring what clients can see and do in their Client Portal.

## How to Open Client Portal Settings

Go to **Hive CRM → Settings → Client Portal**.

## Add the Portal to a Page

Create or choose a WordPress page (for example "My Account") and add the shortcode:

```
[hive_crm_portal]
```

Anywhere this shortcode appears, a logged-in client sees their personal portal dashboard instead of the page's normal content.

## Visible Sections

Under **Visible Sections**, toggle which parts of the portal are shown to clients:

- **Deals** — show the client their deals and estimated value.
- **Projects** — show the client their active and past projects.
- **Invoices** — show the client their estimates and invoices, with secure view links.
- **Support Tickets** — show the client their support tickets and conversation history.

## Support Ticket Permissions

Under **Support Ticket Permissions**, control what clients can do with tickets:

- **Allow Submitting New Tickets** — clients can open a new support ticket directly from the portal.
- **Allow Replying to Tickets** — clients can reply on their own ticket threads. Staff-only internal notes are always hidden from the portal, regardless of this setting.

## Dashboard Welcome Message

Use the **Dashboard Welcome Message** field to add an optional note shown at the top of the client's portal dashboard — useful for announcements or instructions.

## Save Your Changes

Click **Save Portal Settings** to apply your configuration. Changes take effect immediately for all clients.
