# Create a URL Coupon

# Create a URL Coupon

You can turn an existing WooCommerce coupon into an EasyCoupon URL Coupon from the coupon edit screen.

## 1. Open the WooCommerce coupon

In WordPress, open the WooCommerce coupon you want to use with a URL.

## 2. Open easyCoupon URL Coupon

Find the **easyCoupon URL Coupon** tab in the coupon data panel.

## 3. Enable the URL

Turn on **Active Coupon URL**.

EasyCoupon generates a coupon URL automatically. The URL uses the coupon's normal WooCommerce coupon code unless a Pro URL-code override has been configured.

## 4. Copy the coupon URL

Use **Copy URL** beside the generated **Coupon URL** field to copy the link for your campaign or customer communication.

## 5. Save the coupon

Save or update the WooCommerce coupon so the URL Coupon settings are stored.

## Customer requirements

The customer needs to have a product in the cart before opening the URL. EasyCoupon validates the coupon before applying it. Normal WooCommerce coupon restrictions, usage limits, expiry, and other validity rules still apply.

## URL format

EasyCoupon generates a URL using the `apply_coupon` query parameter. The parameter identifies the coupon to apply.
