# Custom Fields

Custom Fields let you extend HiveCRM's forms with your own metadata, per module, without writing code.

## How to Open Custom Fields

Go to **Hive CRM → Settings → Custom Fields**.

## Choose a Module

Custom fields are configured separately for each module:

- Leads
- Deals
- Contacts
- Organizations
- Projects
- Tasks
- Tickets
- Estimates & Invoices

Use the module selector at the top of the screen to choose which one you're editing.

## Field Types

When adding a custom field, choose the type that matches the data you're collecting:

- Single Line Text
- Multi-line Text
- Numeric
- Dropdown Select
- Radio Buttons
- Checkbox List
- Date Picker
- Website URL
- Email Address
- Phone Number

## Add a Custom Field

1. Select the module the field belongs to.
2. Enter a **Label**, choose a **Type**, and optionally a description and placeholder text.
3. For Dropdown Select, Radio Buttons, or Checkbox List, enter the available options.
4. Toggle **Required** if the field must be filled in.
5. Click **Add Field**.

## Reorder Fields

Drag a field into a new position in the list to change the order it appears in on the record's form.

## Edit or Remove a Field

Click a field to edit its label, type, or options. Use the delete action to remove a field you no longer need — this does not delete data already saved on existing records, but the field will no longer appear on forms.
