# Estimates & Invoices Overview

HiveCRM lets you create estimates, convert them to invoices, and collect payment — all without leaving WordPress.

## How to Open Estimates & Invoices

Go to **Hive CRM → Invoices**.

## Estimates

An estimate (or quote) is sent to a client for approval before work begins. Once a client accepts an estimate, you can convert it directly into an invoice.

## Invoices

Invoices bill a client for work delivered. HiveCRM supports:

- Custom numbering prefixes and sequencing
- Multiple currencies and configurable tax rates
- Line-item specific taxes
- Recurring invoices on a schedule
- Automatic expiration and payment-due reminders
- Client-facing online payment through your configured [payment gateways](payment-gateways.md)

## Client Visibility

Clients can view and pay their estimates and invoices from the [Client Portal](client-portal-overview.md), if that section is enabled under [Configuring the Client Portal](configuring-the-client-portal.md).

## When to Use Estimates & Invoices

Use estimates when a client needs to approve pricing before you start, and invoices whenever you need to bill for work — one-time or recurring.
