# Frequently asked questions

**Does Hive Mail send email itself?** It queues each email and hands it to WordPress, so your SMTP plugin carries it. You can also choose the Mailgun or SendGrid API in **Settings > Sending**. See [How Hive Mail sends email](/docs/hive-mail-how-hive-mail-sends-email/).

**Is there a limit on contacts, emails or automations?** Hive Mail sets no quota. Your host or sending service sets how many emails you can send. Choose the pace in **Settings > Sending > Sending speed**.

**Why do my emails go to spam?** Usually a free-mail From address, missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC records, or mail sent by a plain web server. See [Is my site ready to send email?](/docs/hive-mail-is-my-site-ready-to-send/).

**Why did my test email arrive but my campaign did not go out?** The test skips the queue; a campaign needs the scheduler. See [Emails are not sending](/docs/hive-mail-emails-are-not-sending/).

**In which timezone is a campaign scheduled?** The site's timezone, set in WordPress under **Settings > General**. See [Scheduled sending and cron](/docs/hive-mail-scheduled-sending-and-cron/).

**Do I need WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads?** No. The shop screens, triggers and reports appear only when one of them is active.

**Can I move over from Mail Mint or FluentCRM?** Yes, and nothing in the other plugin is changed. See [Move over from another plugin](/docs/hive-mail-move-from-another-plugin/) and [Migrate from FluentCRM](/docs/hive-mail-migrate-from-fluentcrm/).

**Do I have to rebuild the forms I already use?** No. Choose **Connect a form**: Hive Mail reads Fluent Forms, WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms and Elementor forms without changing them. See [How to connect a form you already use](/docs/hive-mail-connect-a-form-you-already-use/).

**Why is an imported person Pending, or why can I not add an address?** Pending: you did not tick the permission box ([Import errors](/docs/hive-mail-import-errors/)). Cannot add: the address may be on the suppression list ([Bounces, complaints and the suppression list](/docs/hive-mail-bounces-and-suppressions/)).

**Is visitor tracking on by default?** No. You switch it on in **Settings > Tracking & Privacy**, and Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browsers are not tracked by default. You are responsible for your privacy policy and for consent. See [Turn on visitor tracking](/docs/hive-mail-turn-on-visitor-tracking/).

**Does Hive Mail send my visitors' data to another server?** The tracker talks only to your own site and stores data in your database (tables starting `hm_`). A CAPTCHA, email or AI service gets data only if you set it up. The license check contacts the store: see [Activate and manage your license](/docs/hive-mail-settings-license/).

**Are opens and clicks tracked?** Yes by default, per contact; make it anonymous or switch it off in **Settings > Tracking & Privacy**. Treat open numbers as a guide. See [Email tracking: opens and clicks](/docs/hive-mail-email-tracking-opens-and-clicks/).

**Can I export or erase a person's data, and what if I delete the plugin?** Yes, with WordPress's **Export Personal Data** and **Erase Personal Data** ([Privacy tools](/docs/hive-mail-privacy-tools-export-and-erase/)). Deleting the plugin removes data only if **Delete all Hive Mail data when the plugin is deleted** is on ([Uninstalling](/docs/hive-mail-uninstalling-and-delete-all-data/)).

**Is there an API, and does it send a webhook for each event?** There is a REST API at `/wp-json/hivemail/v1` (keys are WordPress application passwords). Webhooks are incoming (start a flow) and bounce webhooks only. See [Incoming webhooks, bounce webhooks and API keys](/docs/hive-mail-webhooks-and-api-keys/).
