# Runs & Logs and flow reports

**Runs & Logs** shows each person's journey through your flows. A **flow report** shows the totals. Finished runs and their logs are kept for 30 days, then deleted by the daily clean-up.

## Runs & Logs

Go to **Automation > Runs & Logs**.

![The Runs & Logs table with runs in different states](https://hiveplugins.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/hivemail-automation-runs-list-01.webp)

- **State** tabs: **All**, **In the flow** (includes waiting runs), **Finished**, **Left at a goal**, **Stopped**, **Failed**. **Failed** means a step raised an error; **Stopped** means stopped by hand or with the flow.
- A flow drop-down ("Every flow") and, when you came from a contact's profile, a chip with that person's email (click its x to show everyone).
- Columns: **Person**, **Flow**, **Step** (where they are, or where it ended), **State**, **Entered**, and **Next step or end** (the date of the next step, "When it happens, at the latest {date}" for an event wait, or when it ended). 25 runs per page.

To find one person, use **Runs & logs** in the Automations card on their profile.

## Read a run

Click a row to open **Run details**: the person (a link to the contact), the flow (a link to the canvas), a state badge, and for open runs **Stop this run**. Facts show **Started**, **Now at**, **Next step** (for an event wait it reads "When it happens, at the latest {date}") or **Ended**, and **Flow version**. **What happened** is a timeline, oldest first, with the step name, the event (Entered the flow, Done, Waiting, Went on, Goal reached, Skipped, Error, Finished, Reached the end), a badge for the way out (Yes, No, A, B, Met, Not met), the message and the time. The log keeps a run's first 200 lines.

Typical messages: `Queued "{subject}".`, `Added {tag}.`, `Waiting 3 days.`, `It happened.`, `The time ran out.`, `Not sent: the email no longer exists.`, `Stopped by hand.`, `End of the path.`

The same view opens from the people drawer on the canvas (**{n} in this flow**, the pill on a step, **See who**, or **More > Who is in this flow**). The drawer has **In the flow**, **Finished** and **All** tabs; stopped and failed runs show only under **All**. A tag such as "· v2" marks runs on an earlier version of the flow.

> **Tip:** When someone says "I never got the email", open their run. The log shows whether the email was queued or skipped, with the reason.

## Flow reports

Open one from **Automation > Flows** (row menu **Report**) or the **Report** button on the canvas. It refreshes every 30 seconds while the flow is On and covers people who entered in the last 30 days plus everyone in the flow now.

| Number | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Entered** | People who entered in the window. |
| **In the flow now** | With "{n} waiting". |
| **Finished** | Runs that reached the end. |
| **Did not finish** | With "{n} stopped · {n} failed". |
| **Completion rate** | Finished out of entered. |

Cards below:

- **People per day**: Entered and Finished per day, in the site's timezone.
- **Steps**: **Step**, **Reached**, **Here now**, and for email steps **Sent**, **Opened** and **Clicked** with rates (the share of that step's emails).
- **Emails this flow sent**: Sent, Opened and Clicked for all email steps together.
- **Attributed revenue**: when a shop is active. See [Reports and revenue attribution](/docs/hive-mail-reports-and-revenue/).

Opened and Clicked count emails, not people: an email opened five times counts once.

The **Entered** and **Finished** numbers on the Flows list come from stored runs too, so they can go down over time.
