# Lead Settings

Lead Settings let you configure the qualification levels, acquisition sources, and defaults used across the Leads module.

## How to Open Lead Settings

Go to **Hive CRM → Settings → Lead Settings**.

## Lead Levels & Temperature

Lead Levels are color-coded qualification stages shown as badges throughout the CRM (for example Hot Lead, Warm Prospect, Cold Outreach) and used as the columns of the Leads Kanban board.

To add a level:

1. Under **Lead Levels & Temperature**, enter a name (for example "Hot Lead / Urgent").
2. Choose a badge color.
3. Click **Add Lead Level**.

Click the delete icon next to a level to remove it.

## Lead Acquisition Sources

Lead Sources track where a lead came from (for example Organic Search, LinkedIn, Referral, Google Ads, Cold Email).

To add a source:

1. Under **Lead Acquisition Sources**, enter a name.
2. Click **Add Lead Source**.

## Lead Defaults & Automation

Use this section to set the values HiveCRM applies automatically when a lead is captured without an explicit level or source — for example, leads submitted through a connected form.

- **Default Lead Level** — the qualification level assigned to new leads when none is specified.
- **Default Lead Source** — the acquisition channel tagged on new leads when none is specified.

Choose your defaults and click **Save Lead Defaults**.
