# Notifications Settings

Notifications Settings control which CRM events trigger an in-app alert, an email, or both.

## How to Open Notifications Settings

Go to **Hive CRM → Settings → Notifications**.

## Notification Preference Matrix

Every notification trigger — for example a new lead being added, a deal being assigned, an invoice being paid, or a task changing status — has two independent toggles:

- **In-App** — shows the alert in the notification bell drawer in the admin header.
- **Email** — sends a transactional email using the matching template (configurable under [Email & SMTP Settings](email-smtp-settings.md)).

Use **Turn on all notifications for this channel** or **Turn off all notifications for this channel** to bulk-toggle an entire column instead of configuring each trigger individually.

## Notification Bell Polling

A separate setting controls the real-time background cadence at which HiveCRM checks for new leads, deals, tickets, and document activity to update the header bell counter.
