Contacts are your address book inside HiveCRM — every person and organization you deal with, whether or not they’ve become a paying client yet.
How to Open Contacts #
Go to Hive CRM → Contacts.
People and Organizations #
A contact can be either:
- Individual Person — a single person’s name, email, phone, and details.
- Company / Organization — a business, which can have multiple linked people in the CRM (for example, several employees at the same company).
When creating a contact, choose which type you’re adding at the top of the form.
Relationship Statuses #
Each contact can be assigned a Relationship Status — a color-coded badge such as Lead/Prospect, Active Client, Partner, Past/Inactive, or Blocked. Statuses are fully customizable — see Contact Settings.
Contacts vs. Clients #
Contacts and Clients share the same underlying records — a Client is simply a contact that’s been marked as an active customer. Once a contact is doing business with you, you’ll manage them from the Clients module instead, where you get a unified view of their deals, projects, invoices, and support tickets.
When to Use Contacts #
Use Contacts for anyone in your network — prospects, partners, vendors, or past clients — even if they’re not currently an active paying client.
