Auto Apply Coupon Overview #

EasyCoupon’s Auto Apply Coupon feature automatically applies selected WooCommerce coupons to a customer’s cart when the coupon is valid.

This removes the need for customers to manually enter a coupon code during checkout and can make promotional campaigns easier to use.

How Auto Apply Coupon Works #

The Auto Apply Coupon module uses coupons that already exist in your WooCommerce store.

You choose which published WooCommerce coupons EasyCoupon should manage as automatic coupons. When a customer visits the cart and the selected coupon is valid for that cart, EasyCoupon attempts to apply the coupon automatically.

The underlying WooCommerce coupon rules still determine whether the coupon is valid. This means restrictions such as discount type, minimum or maximum spend, eligible products or categories, expiry, usage limits, and other WooCommerce coupon conditions continue to matter.

What You Can Manage #

The Auto Apply Coupon screen gives you a table of your published WooCommerce coupons and shows information including:

• Coupon code
• Coupon type
• Coupon amount
• Description
• Product IDs
• Usage and limit
• Expiry date
• Whether the coupon is currently in the Auto Apply list
• Actions for editing, adding, or removing the coupon

You can also search the coupon list and filter it by discount type.

Add a Coupon to the Auto Apply List #

To make an existing WooCommerce coupon an automatic coupon:

1. Open EasyCoupon → Auto Apply Coupon.
2. Find the WooCommerce coupon you want to apply automatically.
3. Use the action for that coupon to add it to the Auto Apply list.
4. Confirm the action when EasyCoupon asks for confirmation.
5. The coupon will then be marked as an automatic coupon in the table.

The coupon must already exist as a published WooCommerce coupon before it can be selected from this list.

Remove a Coupon From Auto Apply #

If you no longer want a coupon to be applied automatically:

1. Open EasyCoupon → Auto Apply Coupon.
2. Find the coupon in the table.
3. Use its remove action.
4. Confirm the removal.

Removing a coupon from the Auto Apply list does not delete the WooCommerce coupon. It only removes that coupon from EasyCoupon’s automatic-application list.

Bulk Actions #

EasyCoupon also lets you manage multiple coupons at once.

Select the coupons you want to change, choose a bulk action, and click Apply.

Available bulk actions are:

• Add to auto apply
• Remove from auto apply

This is useful when you need to configure several existing WooCommerce coupons without processing them one at a time.

Search and Filter Coupons #

The Auto Apply Coupon screen includes tools for finding coupons quickly.

Search #

Use the search field to search the coupon table. This is useful when your store contains many WooCommerce coupons.

Filter by Discount Type #

You can filter the table by these coupon types:

• Percentage discount
• Fixed cart discount
• Fixed product discount

Choose the Number of Coupons Per Page #

The Per page view selector lets you choose how many coupons are displayed at once. Available values range from 10 to 100 coupons per page.

Automatic Application and Coupon Validity #

EasyCoupon does not simply apply every coupon in the Auto Apply list regardless of its conditions.

Before adding an automatic coupon, EasyCoupon checks the coupon against the customer’s current cart using WooCommerce’s coupon validation system.

If the coupon is valid and it is not already applied, EasyCoupon adds it to the cart.

This means a coupon can remain in the Auto Apply list while still being unavailable for a particular customer or cart because of the coupon’s WooCommerce restrictions.

Important: URL Coupon Force Apply #

Auto Apply Coupon also interacts with EasyCoupon’s URL Coupon feature.

If a customer is using a URL coupon configured with Force Apply, EasyCoupon does not automatically apply the coupons from the Auto Apply list during that cart request.

This allows a Force Apply URL coupon to take priority instead of having Auto Apply coupons interfere with the selected URL promotion.

Auto Apply Coupon vs Manual Coupons #

Auto Apply Coupon is designed for promotions where you want EasyCoupon to apply a coupon automatically.

Customers can still use the normal WooCommerce coupon workflow for coupons that are not configured for automatic application.

The Auto Apply list controls which existing WooCommerce coupons EasyCoupon should attempt to apply automatically; it does not replace WooCommerce’s coupon system.

When to Use Auto Apply Coupon #

Auto Apply Coupon is useful when you want to:

• Remove the need for customers to type a promotional code
• Automatically apply a valid store-wide promotion
• Make campaigns easier for customers to redeem
• Manage several automatic coupons from one screen
• Use WooCommerce’s existing coupon restrictions together with automatic application

Example #

Suppose your store has a published WooCommerce coupon named WELCOME10 that gives customers a percentage discount.

You add WELCOME10 to EasyCoupon’s Auto Apply list.

When a customer’s cart satisfies the WooCommerce coupon conditions, EasyCoupon checks the coupon and applies it automatically if it is not already applied.

If the coupon is expired, restricted, invalid for the cart, or otherwise fails WooCommerce validation, EasyCoupon will not add it as an automatic discount.
