This article walks through creating, editing, assigning, tagging, and converting leads in HiveCRM.
Create a Lead #
- Go to Hive CRM → Leads.
- Click Add Lead.
- Fill in the lead’s contact details, Lead Level, and Lead Source.
- Click Save.
If you’ve configured a Default Lead Level and Default Lead Source under Lead Settings, those values are pre-filled automatically when no value is specified.
Edit a Lead #
Open a lead from the List or Kanban view to see its full record, then click Edit to update its details.
Move a Lead Through Qualification Stages #
You can change a lead’s level in two ways:
- From the Kanban view, drag the lead’s card into a different Lead Level column.
- From the lead’s detail page or the List view, edit the lead and change its Lead Level field.
Assign a Lead to a Staff Member #
Open the lead and set its assigned staff member so the right person on your team owns the follow-up. Staff assignment also drives notifications — see Notifications Settings.
Tag a Lead #
Leads support HiveCRM’s universal tagging system. Add tags from the lead’s detail page to group and filter leads across your CRM — see Tags.
Convert a Lead to a Deal #
When a lead is ready to move into active sales:
- Open the lead’s detail page.
- Click Convert to Deal.
HiveCRM creates a new deal using the lead’s contact information and marks the lead as converted. The lead record is preserved for history; converting does not delete it.
Delete a Lead #
Open the lead and click the delete action, then confirm. Deleted leads are moved to Trash and can be restored from there before being permanently removed.
