This is a reference for every action type available in Workflow Automation and the options each one supports.
Send Email #
Sends an email when the workflow runs.
- Recipient — the record’s contact, the assigned staff member, or a custom email address you enter.
- Subject and Body — support placeholders that are filled in from the triggering record (for example the record’s title or contact name) when the email is sent.
Create Task #
Creates a new task linked to the triggering record.
- Title and Description — support the same placeholders as Send Email.
- Due In (Days) — sets the task’s due date relative to when the workflow runs.
- Assign To — either the same person already associated with the triggering record, or a specific staff member you choose.
Add Tag #
Adds a specific tag to the triggering record. Choose the tag from your existing Tags.
Update Field #
Sets a field on the triggering record to a specific value — either a standard field or a custom field.
Call Webhook #
Sends an HTTP request to an external URL with the triggering record’s data, letting you connect HiveCRM to outside systems.
- URL — the endpoint to call. See Integrations & Webhooks Overview for HiveCRM’s outbound webhook security rules.
- Secret (optional) — if set, HiveCRM sends it in an
X-HiveCRM-Secretheader so the receiving endpoint can verify the request genuinely came from your HiveCRM site.
