The Client Portal gives each of your clients a self-service dashboard where they can view their own deals, projects, invoices, and support tickets — without needing access to your WordPress admin area.
How Clients Access the Portal #
Add the [hive_crm_portal] shortcode to any WordPress page (for example a page called “My Account” or “Client Dashboard”). When a logged-in client visits that page, HiveCRM shows their personal portal instead of the page’s normal content.
Clients log in using a WordPress account with the hcrm_client role, scoped to their own client record.
What Clients Can See #
Depending on what you enable in Configuring the Client Portal, a client’s portal can show:
- Deals — their deals and estimated value.
- Projects — their active and past projects.
- Invoices — their estimates and invoices, with secure view/pay links.
- Support Tickets — their ticket history and conversation threads.
Support Ticket Permissions #
Separately from what’s visible, you can control whether clients can:
- Submit a new support ticket directly from the portal.
- Reply to their own tickets. Staff-only internal notes on a ticket are always hidden from the client, regardless of this setting.
Security Model #
Every portal request is scoped to the logged-in client’s own records — a client can only ever see their own deals, projects, invoices, and tickets, never another client’s data.
When to Use the Client Portal #
Enable the Client Portal when you want to reduce back-and-forth emails for status updates, invoice copies, or support requests, and give clients a self-service way to check on their own account.
